It is a three-step process. 1) You apply to a job (job seekers only) — your talent profile and CV are sent to the employer. 2) The employer reviews your information and CV and decides to accept or refuse. 3) If they accept, a private chat opens between you so you can talk — like a first interview. You cannot message a company until it has accepted your application.

Why can I not apply to some jobs?

Employers can mark certain criteria as hard requirements — for example a minimum education level, an age range, a gender, a specific nationality, or a minimum experience level. If your talent profile does not meet a required criterion, that job cannot accept your application, and the job page shows you exactly which requirement you do not meet. Criteria the employer left as preferences never block you. Keep your profile complete and accurate so the check works for you.

Does “Accepted” mean I got the job?

No. Accepting your application is not a hiring decision — it simply means the employer wants to talk with you. Think of it as being invited to a first interview: it opens a private chat where you can ask questions and discuss the role. The employer still decides afterwards whether to hire.

Who can apply to jobs?

Only job seeker (talent) accounts can apply. If you registered as a company, applying is disabled — instead you post jobs and review the people who apply to them.

How do I contact an employer?

You can chat with an employer once they accept your application to one of their jobs. The chat opens automatically on acceptance and appears in your Messages. This keeps conversations relevant and stops unsolicited messages — the safest way to communicate.

How do I review and accept applicants (employers)?

Open your job from the employer dashboard and tap “View applicants”. You will see each candidate’s profile, attributes and CV. Choose Accept & chat to open a conversation with them, or Refuse. Accepting is just a first-interview invite, not a hire — you decide later.

How long are chats kept?

A conversation about a job stays available for as long as that job ad is live, then is cleared automatically. General chats are kept for the standard job-ad period from the last message. This keeps your inbox relevant and your data light.

Every listing is automatically screened for fraud signals, employers build a trust score, and the community can report suspicious jobs. HirGulf will never ask you to pay for a job.

No. Anyone can view job ads and talent profiles without an account. You only need to log in when you want to apply, chat, save, or like an ad.

Yes. Create a talent profile, choose which Gulf country you want to work in, add where you currently live and your nationality, upload your CV and photo, and apply to any Gulf job you qualify for — or be discovered by employers.

How do I advertise myself as a candidate?

Go to your dashboard, fill in your talent profile (headline, about you, skills, experience, education, nationality, CV, photo), and turn on “Publish my profile”. A complete profile also means you meet more job requirements and can apply to more roles.

Why do you ask for my date of birth instead of my age?

A date of birth stays accurate on its own — an age typed once becomes wrong the following year, which could quietly make you ineligible for jobs with an age range. Your public talent ad shows only your age (for example “32 years old”), never the date itself. It also lets us send you a birthday greeting. The field is optional and you can leave it blank.

Why can I not apply immediately after editing my profile?

Changing a detail that jobs screen on — nationality, date of birth, gender, education or experience level — starts a 24-hour wait before you can apply to jobs that list those as strict requirements. This stops anyone editing their profile to match a job and applying seconds later, which would make the requirements meaningless and mislead employers. Jobs without strict requirements are never affected, and ordinary edits (headline, skills, CV, photo, salary) never trigger it.

Is there a limit on how much I can write?

Yes, and the box shows you a live counter as you type. Your headline is up to 120 characters and your “About you” up to 2,000. For employers, a job description is up to 5,000 characters and requirements up to 3,000. The box grows as you write, so nothing is hidden behind a scrollbar.

Your profile is private until you choose to make it public, we never sell your data, and in-app chats are automatically cleared in line with the job ad they belong to. Your contact details are only shared with an employer after they accept your application. See our Privacy Policy for details.

What does the "Verified" badge mean?

Employers earn the Verified badge through automated identity checks: a verified email, an uploaded trade/commercial licence, a complete company profile, and a clean record with no upheld reports (a company-domain email is a bonus signal). It confirms the employer’s identity — it is not a guarantee of a job, so always keep chatting on HirGulf and never pay a recruitment or visa fee.

How do featured jobs and company subscriptions work?

Employers can optionally pay to feature a listing (top of results) or subscribe for higher job limits, candidate search and analytics. These are optional — posting jobs is free.

A recruiter asked me to pay a fee. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Never pay for a job, visa, or "processing fee". HirGulf never charges candidates. Use the Report button on the listing — 3 reports auto-hide a job and repeat offenders are banned.

Can I follow a company for new openings?

Yes. On a company profile, tap Follow to get notified whenever they post a new job.

How do I change my language or password?

What emails will HirGulf send me?

Only ones tied to your account: verifying your email, resetting your password, confirming an application, telling an employer someone applied, and job alerts if you set one up. If you add a date of birth we also send a birthday greeting once a year. Every email has an unsubscribe or preferences link where it applies, and we never sell your address or send it to advertisers.

How do I report a suspicious job or company?
